Alone, Confused and Scared, That’s how I met each new day. We may have family and friends around but they cannot shed this feeling of being alone. It was beginning to affect my ability to live and function as a human being. That unanswered question continues to haunt us, “Why Me” why do I have to endure this anxiety disorder. There just doesn’t seem to be an answer to “how to be anxiety free”.

I thought for a while I was on my own, only to discover millions suffer anxiety issues worldwide. I didn’t know there were tens of thousands who suffered the same fate as me, who can understand or believe that an attack can come out of thin air. There is nowhere you can run and hide from your anxiety.

Why Me?, Will It ever stop? was always on my tongue. You keep asking yourself why this is happening. And the greatest fear of an Anxiety attack/disorder sufferer, is to have another attack. You try to stay at home but even here, you’re not safe. They can, and often did happen while I was sleeping. How scary do you think that may have been to wake up to? Indescribable would be putting it mildly.

But from the worlds point of view, anxiety is one of those ’sweep it under the carpet’, “embarrassment-type issues, or I think I might-be-going-crazy” feelings. It’s all a little bit embarrassing, so let’s sweep it under the carpet type issues. The whole world has the same attitude and many sufferers will themselves shy away and never admit to it.

What Can You Do To Battle Back?

What has changed that now gives me control over my life is quite simply. I have acknowledged I have a condition called Anxiety Disorder. It’s now in my hands to seek and implement the remedial action I need to take.

To achieve a cure for anxiety disorder the fisrt step is acknowledgement of your disorder for what it is, a medical condition like so many other medical conditions. Realize that it won’t last forever. The attacks all have a trigger that starts them and an end that although leaving one a little confused or anxious we are alive and able to go on.

The key to controlling an anxiety attack is in fact control. To achieve a cure you must reassert control over your mind and through your mind control over your body. Now try to relax, close your eyes to cut out external influences that may be causing the anxiety.

We need to fight the symptoms of the anxiety attack head on. Relax your mussels buy talking to your self with a focus on each set of mussels you are relaxing. Let your mind move to relaxing mussels in your arms and legs by selftalking mentally to each set of mussels you want to relax. Flex and shake the parts of your body as you need to, to get them to relax.

The REAL key in battling Anxiety Attacks is to redirect your train of thought. Produce mental images in your brain, of you being in CHARGE of the situation. Keep yourself as busy as you can and let the thoughts of fear of an oncoming attack melt away. Practice this visualization so it becomes easy to project and you will see your control grow with every attack as each attack reduces in intensity and duration.

Seeking professional assistance in the early stages of your attempting to cure an anxiety disorder may be a good move. Medications can reduce the severity of symptoms allowing you to get on top of them quicker. There should be no feeling of regret or embarrassment in looking for this assistance.
