Hormone replacement therapy - Though a great many may believe it, menopause is not a sickness, still the signs it causes even though it may look like it.  With indications that include hot flashes, you have to be pondering about what can be done to address these signs.  There are solutions and HRT (hormone replacement therapy) is quickly acquiring popularity but it helps to be educated in this area.

HRT involves using female hormones to treat the symptoms that make menopause so uncomfortable. These are a replacement for the hormones that you have stopped producing.  while a lot of people do not agree on the effectiveness of hormone replacement therapy, it continues to be the most effective treatment for relief of hot flashes and night sweats.  Though long-term HRT is not recommended anymore short-term HRT for menopause show signs of gaining protection against several diseases. HRT might protect against osteoporosis, colorectal cancer, and many other things, so menopausal women may receive estrogen and progesterone to help defend against uterine cancer.

There are actually risks involved with HRT as incidents as cases of different diseases have been encountered in HRT patients.  Very few women have had this problem, however more research is being done because of a growing concern of women’s health.  Women who have gone through this type of therapy have had an increasing number of false positives on mammograms however most thing this is to be due to the estrogen treatment causing breast tissue density. for those who have not decided if hormone replacement therapy is the right answer, that will be a personal decisionbut depending on how bad the symptoms are and the ability to deal with symptoms each individual woman should talk with her doctor.  HRT is still preferred and chances are you’ll find it to be worth the risk.

Certain people will want to avoid HRT and they are those who have a history of breast cancer or those who have had heart disease and blood clots.  Women experiencing menopause, and have had no symptoms should not take HRT although women over age 60 are at an increased risk as well.  once you decide you need HRT, talk with your doctor about the best delivery method and find the lowest effective dose and take it for the shortest amount of time you can.

there are many ways to do HRT women can choose from methods that include a pill, patch, cream, or a suppository.taking into account your needs, select the type that is best for you. Primarily vaginal symptoms respond better to a localized treatment such as the cream or ring.  If you have more fully encompassing conditions, think about taking the pill or the patch to treat your symptoms but still talk with your health professional about taking HRT.  While there are risks the benefits often make it worthwhile and by considering hormone replacement therapy, you may be able to enjoy your life more.  You don’t have to halt your life simply because of menopause.
